Kingdom of God

By Lover of Words

Matthew 6:33

Jesus preached that the kingdom of God is here. He told His disciples to spread the good news of the kingdom. What exactly is the kingdom of God? The kingdom of God is simply God’s government and He is King.

In a kingdom everything belongs to the king. All the land, resources, crops, livestock, ideas, inventions, beliefs, and people belong to him. The king is responsible for taking care of everything. If you own anything it has to be given to you by the king. The king is responsible for taking care of his kingdom.

Let me give you an example: If you own a condo and you rent it, who is responsible for paying the mortgage? You are! If your tenant does not pay their rent you still have to pay the mortgage because you are the Landlord. You ultimately own the land or property. Lord means owner.

Even though you don’t really ever own it because if you don’t pay property taxes the government will take it from you. That is another lesson. However, when you allow someone to use your home you still have the ultimate responsibility.

It works similar in the kingdom of God. Jesus is the King and He owns everything. He owns your body and can tell sickness to leave His property(you). God is the only King that has total dominion over everything in His kingdom; visible and invisible. He owns and rules it all!

Now, there are a few facts about the kingdom of God. You have to be born again, of water and Spirit, to enter the kingdom. The kingdom is inside you. You have to accept God and His Authority willingly. You have to take the kingdom of God by force. The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Now that we have some truth about the kingdom of God, what does that mean to you? First, you have to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Jesus then baptizes you with the Holy Spirit and fire. You should then surrender to Him your will.

Now you are born again into the kingdom of God. Now that the kingdom is inside of you now you have to seek it and it’s righteousness and all the things that you need to live and do God’s work will be added unto you. Lastly, you have to be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Now that you know that satan no longer has dominion over you… he will fight you like crazy. You have to fight your flesh and take that truth by force. He will try to keep you in bondage even though he has no authority over you. But greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

Jesus is the King of your life and you have to willingly submit to His authority. That is not a bad thing because being under the Authority of God means that you have His protection and provision. He is your Father and He loves you. You have righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit!
